Good morning. Anyone switch from At&t to TMobile? I'm considering it and wonder how there coverage is and what I'll lose. Thoughts?
depends on your area. ask people that live in your area and see what they say.
AT&T does have a much bigger network though so you'll get better coverage from AT&T for the most part I'd say.
I switched from att to t-mobile and have no regrets. The coverage with t-mobile does not cover nearly as wide an area as ATT. I also have some issues with getting data when inside buildings. I tend to use data when I'm commuting though and t-Mobile is fine for that. My understanding is that phones which support the 700 mhz LTE band will help with this, the iPhone is not currently one of these but hopefully the new version will be. ALso worth to note that t-mobile offers voice roming on ATT's network and limited data roming. I don't use the data but I find the voice roming to be useful when traveling to rural areas for vacation.
In Portland I get great coverage with the iPhone 6. The 4S couldn't do LTE but the 6 can and I have no issues even in outer areas anymore. Except, of course, where T-Mobile doesn't run. But the 6 supporting makes data available virtually anywhere.LTE
I'd say check the coverage maps with the phone you wish to use.
It does really matter where you live I've noticed in many other articles.
If you don't travel out of the area you live, and T Mobile is good there, you
win.
I have a phone the just got its 700 band unlocked, nexus6 and it really does help with coverage. Also something to note here, t-mobiles wyfi calling and texting when your in a crappy singal area works well. I watched my wife use it when Raleigh had its ice storm back when.
I have t-mobile, and love it. however, the area where I live doesn't have very
good signal at all. I have to turn on wifi calling. If you are in such an area,
you might want to consider that, especially if you have a phone that supports
it. I don't still get a good signal, anywhere from 1 to 2 bars, but I did end up
getting a wifi hotspot cell tower from them. They can take 1 bar and turn it
into more bars pritty much, but I haven't got it setup yet. going to get
another dsl modem that I can use with it because I don't want to somehow
get myself locked out of my network, pluss, other people live with me for the
time being, so this will be a good idea so that no one gets locked out
somehow. If you do get oen of these towers, you must know, that they will
charge you 25 bucks for it, and if it somehow gets damaged, you will be
charged 99 for the damage. my phone is an iPhone 6 plus, 16 gigs.
T Mobile has chaned the mapping process.
It is easier to check your coverage before you get in the service now.
Ask about this.
Hello. I had at&t from 2006 to 2012. I switched because of prices. I think I was paying 100 for unlimited minutes and texting and 3 gb data just before I left. Bare in mind this was just for me on an iPhone 4 at the time. Other than that I really did not mind at&t. Now I have tmobile and love it. I'm paying the same price for unlimited everything and 5 gb hotspot. Tmobile's lte really gives at&t a run for the money. The biggest drawback with tmobile is the coverage but they are doing their best to fix that problem. Unlike sprint which said they were fixing lte but more often than not they made it worse than their 3g.
